KFOR-TV, Oklahoma City’s market leader and one of the top NBC affiliates in the country, has an immediate opening for a Photojournalist.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of a News Photographer is to shoot and edit videotape under extreme deadline pressure. Two years experience in TV news and sports photography and editing required.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Insures sound and picture quality of all stories shot.
2. Works alone or with a reporter/anchor/producer/or writer to edit the story for air.
3. Operates ENG microwave equipment. Must be able to climb atop live van to unravel cables and be able to carry and ravel large spools of video and audio cables.
4. Edits, organizes, cues and plays news videotapes during daily newscasts. Must be able to stand and load beta tapes in playback machines.
5. Maintains inventory of all assigned equipment and responsible for its upkeep.
6. Examines, maintains and performs routine maintenance of any assigned vehicles.
7. Submits story ideas daily.
8. Must be available to work station promotion events.
9. Experience with ENG, live microwave.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. A valid Oklahoma Drivers License.
2. Ability to carry and operate equipment weighing over 65 pounds while videotaping subjects in various situations.
3. Must be able to work under extreme pressure, stress and deadlines.
4. Ability to shoot and edit videotape under any type weather condition or deadlines.
